Dorsey is looking for candidates for the following positions.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manufacture close-tolerance special, parts to blueprint using conventional Bridgeport type milling machines, conventional lathes, jig bore/ jig grinders and surface grinders. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and MUST have his own tools. The ideal candidate will be able to hold tolerances within .0002”. Five years of experience is preferred. Must have own transportation.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with all aspects of surface grinding including conventional and automatic machines. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with blueprints, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to hold close tolerances in a production environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, must be able to lift 45 lbs and have own transportation.

Must have the ability to inspect parts to blueprint tolerance and experience with measuring devices. The ability to listen, learn, and take good notes. This person does not need machining experience but should be mechanically inclined. Must have own transportation.

Dorsey is looking for a candidate, who has basic blueprint reading skills, is patient and creative. This person must have the drive and determination to work with manual machines and should have basic manual mill, lathe and grinding experience. This candidate must be willing to hone the skills over a 3-5 year period to hold tight tolerances within .0002”. Minimal experience necessary. Tools are not provided and will be an additional investment over time.

The ideal candidate will possess fine attention to detail, math skills, willing to learn, be patient and have mechanical ability. This person will be responsible for assembling small and delicate parts and/or products using basic hand tools and effective motor skills/mechanical dexterity. This person will utilize mathematics to determine appropriate sizing of components required for such assembly and perform basic quality inspection of completed part to ensure it is to specifications. They will utilize prints or schematics to complete assembly to desired results. Candidate must be able to lift 45 lbs. Must have own transportation.

This candidate must be mechanically inclined, detail oriented, be patient and be able to lift 45 lbs. A candidate with basic blueprint reading and math skills is ideal. This person should willing to make a 3-5 year time commitment to learn the skill.

As a Mechanical Assembler/Assembly Apprentice, you will play a key role in the manufacturing process, using mechanical knowledge and hand tools to assemble components with precision. Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, you will interpret blueprints and schematics, ensure quality using calipers and micrometers, and demonstrate strong math skills while maintaining commitment to safety—especially when operating power tools.
